Maybelline Falsies Mascara... Yea or Nay?

It is safe to say that I am a mascara newbie. Never having branched out from the Loreal Telescopic mascara in near to five years, I wanted to give another high street product a go. This time, having searched endlessly around Boots and the make-up counters, with numerous lipstick swatches on my hands (you girls know what it's like), and numerous squirts of pretty smelling perfume, my eyes were drawn to the Maybelline stand.

I picked up the Maybelline Falsies, having remembered that I had been told this is a good mascara, and it was also on offer, even more appealing to me, and even more so for my wallet. So, here's the verdict!!

Maybelline Falsies Mascara
The wand firstly, looks promising, curvy and a good size, but already I could see the dryness of the product itself. I bought it in black, just a safe bet for me, and I could see that it looked a little powdery on the wand. I curled my eyelashes like always, and began to layer on the mascara. Nope. Did not do what it said on the tin. My eyelashes looked thick, I'll give it that, but they looked very spidery, and very stubby almost. It isn't really the look I was hoping for. Given that some false eyelashes can look almost a little feathery on, this did not give the desired effect of 'falsies', at all.

So, this product is not for those of you girlies who love a nice lengthened lash, with definition and strength. This is a very clumpy, almost clay like mascara and I noticed a droop in my lashes around lunch time already. On the whole, I am a huge fan of Maybelline, I just feel that this mascara is probably one of the most disappointing ones I have come across and perhaps I was unfortunate enough to pick up a mascara that had been sat on the shelf a little too long and dried out, but I fear this isn't the case...

By all means, layering with a lengthening mascara may be an option for those of you who like to layer your mascaras, but for people who maybe have a little less time to do their make- up and are on the hunt for quick and easy make-up solutions, then this may not be the one for you. Of course a little sad to find disappointing products, but for me, it really didn't tick any of the boxes!
