Why I Love To Travel & You Should Too!

Travelling is one of my greatest loves; I've got what you would call the 'travel bug.' Whenever I can, I opt to get away and travel to some distant corner of the globe. I am a real travel lover; all my spare pennies go on saving for my next big trip.

When I hear people say that they don't enjoy travel, it cuts me to my very core. Travelling is such a fantastic part of life and one that no one should miss out on. Want to know why I love to travel and you should too? Then keep reading and you'll soon be as addicted to seeing the world as I am.

The world is a big, big place, and is home to some amazing places. Many of which are the types of places that unless you see for yourself, you wouldn't believe even exist. There's so much more to see and explore than the country that you live in; the world is your oyster, and you should be taking advantage of that.

When you visit somewhere new, you get the chance to see and explore the area, and get an idea of what you must experience while you're there. From world famous sites and attractions to places that are less well-known, there's always something interesting to see or do.

Tick things off my bucket list

Being the travel lover that I am, I do, of course, have a bucket list. For me, bucket list holidays are trips that go beyond your average beach break. They're more about seeing and exploring new things and places. They're about travelling to somewhere different and unique, somewhere that's got a lot to offer but isn't hugely popular.

Experience new cultures

I don't know about you, but when I travel, I love to experience new cultures. I like to dig a little deeper than what the tourist industry offers and discover what the location I'm visiting is really like. I want to see all the popular local hotspots, find the restaurants that serve the most authentic cuisine, and immerse myself in the culture.

Of course, I love doing the touristy things too, but I also like to get a feel for the real culture of every place I visit. I find the best way to do that is to talk to local people and ask them to recommend things to see and do, as well as the best places to eat and drink.

Meet new people and make new friends

One of the best things about travelling is the fact that you have the chance to meet lots of new people and make new friends. Whether you opt to go on a luxury break or stay in a hostel, you always have opportunities to meet new people.

At the bar, strike up a conversation with someone. If you see someone eating alone in a restaurant, ask if you can join them, While on a guided tour, chat with the person next to you. Making friends isn't difficult, it's just a case of being brave and introducing yourself. There are so many benefits of travel; those mentioned above are just a few of them. I can't stress enough, just how amazing travel can be. It will not only allow you to learn more about other places and cultures, but it will also help you to develop as an individual.
