My Simple Skincare Routine

Red Clay Konjac Sponge
Skincare is such a vital part of anybody's routine. Your skin is such a delicate and precious part of you, and it's always on show, so keeping it looking fresh and fine is a necessity.  I don't necessarily break the bank with my skincare, it's a delicate balance between finding good products and not breaking the bank, which can be somewhat of a challenging task. I have found a little routine however that I've been sticking to rigidly because our skin does respond better to routine, just like any other part of our bodies.

Firstly my biggest skin tip is ...drink plenty of water! You will be surprised just how clear it can keep your skin and keep it loking rejuvinated and replenishing the water you may have lost; and clearing out those nasty toxins.

Bear in mind, firstly, my skin is primarily dry. I suffer with red blotchiness and scarring. I don't believe in piling on product after product, even if they are light and delicate on the skin, I keep it relatively simple and because it is so simple, I've actually been enjoying my routine. Here are the products that I've been using over the past few weeks.

1. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (combination & sensitive skin) - You can purchase it here.
2. Korres Wild Rose Exfoliating Cleanser - You can purchase here.
3. Pixi Glow Tonic - You can purchase here.
4. Pixi Glow Mud Mask - You can purchase here.
5. Pure Natural Beauty Super Grape Night Cream - You can purchase here.
6. Konjac Red Clay Sponge - You can purchase here.

Morning Routine

I start on a morning with my Korres exfoliating cleanser and I apply it with the red clay Konjac sponge. I love the sponge, it's soft but firm, and it helps exfoliate my skin so nicely in correspondence with the Korres. Their Wild Rose line is exquisite and delightful and I always reach for them as my go-to range. With the sponge, I soak it in warm water then begin to softly buff the product into my skin and my skin feels heavenly soft afterwards.

Evening Routine

I take my make-up off with a facecloth and not pads, mostly because I find this scrapes the make-up off a little easier, and because I find the cloths more economically friendly, and in the long-run, cheaper! I use a fair amount of the Micellar water to ensure I have thoroughly cleansed. I will use the Pixi Glow Tonic. A little sweep across the skin and I feel fresh and my skin looks truly refreshed.

Next I whip out the mud mask (usually twice/three times a week), because I love to indulge and my skin thanks me for it. For all the marzipan lovers out there, this smells exactly like sweet marzipan. It is creamy but dries very quickly on the skin, so my application skills leave a lot to be desired! I leave it on for 15 minutes before washing it gently off with warm water. It leaves my skin feeling silky and utterly pampered! Finally I finish off with a new product I've been enjoying from Marks & Spencer own range, their Pure range, and this one is the Super Grape nightcream, which comes with a pump, which is OK, not always the most practical for scraping out the last little drops of product, but it is a very moisturising cream and sinks in very nicely. So far, I've not been moisturising during the day because my nighttime routine has really been holding up wonderfully!

Pure Super Grape Nightcream

That's it. Short but simple, and incredibly effective, and for those who suffer with dry skin or blotchy, red scarred skin, I find exfoliating daily and sticking to a set routine, can mean you will achieve healthier, glowing skin, which makes applying make-up that extra little bit satisfying when it slides on like a dream and makes you look incredibly flawless. It's time you started enjoying your skincare and it's time you started reaping the benefits.
